The AB comprises up to 25 persons who have their main professional activity in Europe.

Membership is open to persons:

• working demonstrably in a professional capacity in futurology (research, consulting), or
• charged with long-term future planning in enterprises, international organisations or governmental bodies.
• Members of the AB do not necessarely represent the organisations they are employed for.

The chief executive of the parent organisation is an ex officio member of the AB.

New members are elected on the basis of proposals from individual members after the approval of the management of the parent body.

The statutes of the Advisory Board have been approved by the inaugurational meeting of the Advisory Board on 8 January 2004 at the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue, Rueschlikon/Switzerland.
